Schedule:
Monday-Friday
12PM to 5 or 6PM
The Part Time Kid’s Programs Coordinator works directly with Kid’s Café sites to train, monitor compliance, and work with staff to provide meals to children in afterschool and summer programs. This position is also responsible for outreach, monitoring, and support of partner in-school emergency food pantries and snack programs. This position requires statewide travel to program sites. Majority of travel will be day trips with occasional overnight trips. This position provides a great mix of in-office work, and time on site interacting with staff, volunteers, and kids.
Duties:
- Visit program sites regularly; answering questions, ensuring procedure compliance and resolution of issues
- Ensure all health and safety standards are followed and all partner agencies are in compliance with Feeding America and UFB health and sanitation requirements
- Ensure flexibility with working around Kid’s Café serving hours
- Work with partner agencies, inventory, warehouse and transportation in distribution of additional product
- Update and coordinate agency orders
- Complete paperwork and reports for programs matters
- Collaborate and work with site staff and volunteers
- Work with staff and Programs Manager to resolve issues with sites and assure site satisfaction with services
- Educate sites on compliance and assist with corrections, as needed
- Provide input on goals and objectives to help ensure site and overall program success
- Participate in program meeting, conferences, and community presentations as assigned
- Back up other staff as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- College coursework in social service/health sciences OR minimum 1 year directly related experience
- Interest in and commitment to the Food Bank's mission and philosophy
- Must have or able to procure a Food Handler's Permit
- Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative within assignment parameters
- Must be able to plan, direct and complete complex tasks
- Excellent teamwork skills, organization skills and communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Good customer service skills with ability to plan, oversee, delegate and follow-through on projects
- Must have a current Driver's License
- Good computer skills with database and spreadsheet programs
- Ability to relate in a professional manner to clients, agency staff, donors and the community at large
- High positive energy level
- High standards of professional ethics and conduct
- Expected to work in variable weather conditions from mild to extreme heat and cold
Physical Requirements:
Work is normally sedentary. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. There is some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, etc., driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. During peak seasons, all UFB staff may be asked to assist with receiving donations, picking up donations or other customer service work outside the normal scope of duties.
