Job Summary:
VTG is looking for a Data Scientist in Chantilly, VA, to support government and program teams with data analysis, visualization, and reporting. The role involves performing data analysis and modeling to provide actionable insights to leadership, with responsibilities varying based on the level of the position.
Responsibilities:
• Support collection, cleaning, and preparation of structured and semi‑structured data
• Assist with exploratory data analysis and basic statistical assessments
• Develop simple dashboards, visualizations, and analytical summaries
• Support documentation of data sources, assumptions, and methodologies
• Participate in analytic working groups and technical discussions
• Assist with maintaining data pipelines, scripts, and analysis artifacts
• Support coordination between data engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
• Develop and apply statistical models or machine learning techniques as appropriate
• Design and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and analytic products
• Translate mission or business questions into analytic approaches and outputs
• Validate data quality, assumptions, and model results
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Support integration of analytics into operational or decision‑support workflows
