Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting the acquisition, integration, qualification, and development of a state-of-the art engineering analysis software toolkit that enables the design and licensing of the next generation of nuclear power reactors. This includes decisions based on business objectives, allocated resources, and regulatory compliance.


Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the following software and services to the engineers who are performing analysis:
    • Internally developed analysis software (i.e., installation files, documentation, testing, user support).
    • Verification and Validation (V&V) documentation and Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) packages for all relevant analysis software.
  • Control and maintenance of analysis software in accordance with the Quality Assurance program which implements NQA-1 and other relevant standards.
  • Support project managers and leads for development of analysis software.
  • Support the execution of the project plans for each area.
  • Partner with appropriate managers to ensure sufficient staffing, resourcing, and recruitment for supporting software services.
  • Collaborate with appropriate team members to ensure that validation covers the design requirements specified for full code qualification.
  • Work with appropriate managers to ensure alignment of requirements.
  • Act as single point of contact for software services contractors.
  • Support the management of performance, acceptance, and quality assurance of work product by contractors.
  • Manage execution and periodic updating of the Quality Assurance Program's (QAP) software procedures.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Typically, ten years of engineering experience. Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience.
  • Experience with analysis software verification and validation (V&V).
  • Experience in the use or development of analysis software under a heavily regulated quality assurance regime (e.g., nuclear systems design, nuclear safety analysis, flight control software, safety-related industrial controls or similar such as computer software used to control plant SSCs).

Location:530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD

Work Site Expectations: 4-5 days in office
Travel Expectations: Up to 10% as needed for project assignment
Hours:Standard office hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm ET, Monday - Friday

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$137,838 to $229,729
