Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated,state-of-the-artmedical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit,multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.


Martin North Hospital'sMed/Surg and TelemetryUnit provides comprehensive carefor patients with various medical and surgical conditions whorequirecontinuous cardiac monitoring.Many of the patients on this unit aregastro-focused.As a New Grad RN Residenton the team, you will work with fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.By working alongside asuccesscoach, you will be able to enhance your nursing skills each day, which can lead to growth within the unit and beyond.


A caregiver in this position worksnightsfrom 7:00PM - 7:30AM, including every other weekend.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.

  • Provide direct nursing care alongside asuccesscoach.

  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patientpreferenceand resource availability).

  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.

  • Seek supervision,consultationandassistancewhen unable to perform safely and independently.

  • Documentinpatients' medical records.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor'sof Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
