Outpatient Surgery Centers | UVA Health
Deliver expert perioperative care in a setting designed for clinical excellence, predictable schedules, and professional growth . This Registered Nurse role within UVA Health's Outpatient Surgery Centers allows you to practice in an OR environment while maintaining a healthy work -l ife balance .
At UVA Health, this outpatient OR position offers Monday through Friday hours, no holidays, weekends, and minimal on call hours with incentive pay, combined with the stability and credibility of a nationally respected academic health system. Here, your expertise directly supports efficient, high-quality surgical care in a collaborative outpatient environment where patients, surgeons, and nurses all benefit from consistency, preparation, and trust.

The Role
As a Registered Nurse in UVA Health's Outpatient Surgery Centers, you will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in a focused outpatient environment. This role balances efficiency with clinical rigor and allows nurses to deliver high-quality care in settings intentionally designed for safety, flow, and patient experience.
In this role, you will:
  • Deliver perioperative nursing care including preoperative preparation, intraoperative support, and postoperative recovery

  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure safe and seamless procedures

  • Apply evidence-based practice and standardized protocols to support patient safety and optimal outcomes

  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and professional standards

  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Monday through Friday schedule with no nights, weekends or holidays and minimal call with incentiv e pay

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of nursing experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
