Introductory Chemistry (Chem 105) is the one semester Introductory Chemistry course geared toward our non-majors and health professions students. The lecture will have a maximum of 22 students and each lab is capped at 22 students.

The course meets from 1/12/2026 - 5/14/2026.

Reporting Relationship Essential Responsibilities Other Duties and Responsibilities Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field
OR a Master's degree or higher in any field with at least 18 credit hours of graduate level Chemistry coursework.
Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Experience using technology in the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Chemistry with college teaching experience, especially at a community college.
Interest in collaborating with colleagues in a small physical science department that offers a broad range of courses.
Experience working with culturally and intellectually diverse students.
Ability to use diverse teaching methods, including computer technology and online learning management systems like Desire2Learn.
Interest in developing and teaching hybrid and online courses.
Experience using and maintaining chemical instrumentation, equipment, and materials.

Ability to teach Organic Chemistry is a plus.
