Position:

We are currently hiring an Intern, Investment Management, Canadian Equities, for a summer term position (May to August 2027) based in Winnipeg. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and returning to school after the internship.

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.

Mackenzie has several Equity Boutiques that cover various geographies, market capitalization ranges and investment styles. The Mackenzie Canadian Equities Team invests in publicly listed companies in Canada and the United States. We seek a self-starter, who is curious about business and investing, to assist with fundamental company research.  This principally includes modeling, business evaluation, management interviews, and writing reports, but could include other assignments.

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about our industry, our company and investment management. You will be working closely with our team to conduct industry and company research, analyze data and attend meetings to develop your analytical skills. You have shown an interest in pursuing a career in investment management through academic and extra-curricular activities or personal interests and hobbies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct equity research on companies, which includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Develop knowledge of varying industries
    • Analyze the qualitative and quantitative attributes of companies in these industries
    • Create company financial models
  • Synthesize the above research to help develop investment recommendations

Requirements:

  • Registered students returning to school in September 2027 in the fields of Business, Finance, Accounting, Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Demonstrated passion for and interest in capital markets
  • Desire for continuous learning and the investment process
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, judgment & decision-making skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, event-oriented, capital markets environment
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, and financial modeling experience

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is $68,250 and $78,000, which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidateโ€™s skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
