Scope of Work
Accepts and disposes of refuse and recycle material at the Citizens Collection/Recycle Station.
Essential Job Duties
  • Accepts and disposes of recycle materials at the Citizens Collection Station.
  • Maintains access roads in and out of the Citizens Collection Station.
  • Cleans areas at the end of the day.
  • Maintains all equipment in good working order and keeps records of service problems. Submits daily maintenance sheets to supervisor.
  • Maintains logs on vehicles that enter the Citizens Collection Station.Gives directions to citizens.
  • Assists in litter pickup and similar programs when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Conditions
Ability to sit, stand and drive a vehicle to and from various work sites. Ability to vigorously bend, climb and lift in order to collect materials. Employee will be subject to extreme temperatures. Ability to work with mechanical, chemical environmental and biological hazards. Employee works around contaminated materials collecting and disposing of materials.
Required Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate with citizens to instruct them as to where to dispose of refuse or recyclables. Ability to effectively communicate with employees in order to receive work orders or instructions for any project.
Ability to read, interpret and understand local, state and federal regulations related to disposal and recycling. Knowledge of the processes used in collection and disposal of waste and recycling materials. Ability to follow instructions and manuals for equipment repair and maintenance. Ability to use tools including, but not limited to , shovels, brooms and rakes. Ability to read and write, and to work on a computer to produce work orders.
High school diploma or equivalent plus one to three years of equipment operation required. Valid Texas drivers license is required. Must obtain a CDL license within 6 months of employment.
