Job description

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Principal CAD/BIM Designer to collaborate with project managers and engineers in developing process mechanical BIM (Revit) models, families, and contract drawings for water, wastewater, and pump station facility projects.

Work Setting: In-person (All in office/field)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Revit models, families, and contract documents
  • Lay out process mechanical piping in Revit to create enlarged plans, sections, and details.
  • Coordinate with site civil, structural, architectural, HVAC, electrical, and I&C disciplines to identify and resolve design conflicts.
  • Perform clash detection at submittal milestones and support clash resolution.
  • Incorporate engineer and CAD/BIM Coordinator redlines into drawings and models.
  • Coordinate design submittals with project discipline leads.
  • Verify deliverables comply with Hazen and client CAD/BIM standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or associate degree/technical certification with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Autodesk FORMA, formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Experience leading and coordinating construction contract drawings for medium- and large-scale projects.
  • Experience mentoring early-career designers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on Revit experience, especially with MEP design
  • Process Mechanical Revit experience
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines
  • Water or wastewater industry experience
