Job description

The CAM programmer in the engineering department has the responsibility of developing machine recognized codes and operating instructions. These programs are to be generated for all components routed through the Mazak and BLM LT-Free.
CAM Programming is performed using a nesting software extension to SolidWorks as well as ARTCUT software. Attention to detail and the ability to interpret part drawings are skills necessary for this position. Also, interpersonal communication skills are vital for the fulfillment of the programming position.
Willing to train motivated candidate.
Requirements:
  • CAM programming preferred and/or two years of experience programming in a similar work environment.
  • Proficient with CAD systems and techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with shop procedures and environment.

Functions:
  • Program repetitive and new customer parts accurately.
  • Efficiently nest jobs by material size while reducing material waste.
  • Remain dedicated to reducing cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot NC code when machining issues arise.
  • Ensure all programmed parts match drawing revision levels.
  • Work closely with laser operator when developing new cutting conditions.
  • Provide the necessary paperwork for machine operator.
