Job description

Manufacturing Engineering Programmer

Position Description

Process Improvement

· Assist with the redesigning of various product lines for cost effectiveness and improved performance.

· Assist in the coordination of manufacturing launch for new or revised products, including training team members and evaluating results.

· Design, develop and test machinery.

· Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.

Project Planning and Execution

· Evaluate and report on new materials, technology, and techniques for improving manufacturing and service of the product line.

· Create and manage preparatory, interim, and completion project plans, reports, and documentation.

· Participate in design reviews.

· Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of equipment, electrical drawings, and other documentation.

· Prepare quotations and appropriating requests for equipment to support the business unit requirements.

Manufacturing Facility and Support

· Evaluate and solve production problems.

· Manage the successful transition of new products and technology into the production arena.

· Research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements

· Ladder logic experience

· Basic knowledge of electrical design

· Able to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously.

· Excellent planning and organizational skills.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven demonstration of effective and efficient interfacing with all levels of team members, vendors and guests.

· Adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, projects, and priorities.

Electrical Programmer

· Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Technology, or equivalent degree

§ Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

· Able to read, create, and analyze electrical drawings.

Computer Programmer

· Associate's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree

§ Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

· Visual Basic experience or training required.

· Knowledge of object oriented development required.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

· Visual Basic, Allen Bradley software, Siemens programming software

· Robotic programming in Yaskawa or Fanuc
