Job Description:

**Barry-Wehmiller Converting is growing, and we currently have Electrical positions available at all levels. These are primarily hybrid roles at our Green Bay facility, and onsite and hybrid opportunities are also available in Waukesha and Madison.

Consideration for a specific level and team will be determined through the interview process. Candidates will likely meet with multiple team leaders in a streamlined process to determine best fit.

Relocation assistance may be available for candidates outside of a commutable distance to one of our facilities.

The Electrical Engineer will use engineering principles and design software to design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the design team in machinery design from inception to completion that is extensive and complex, involving original design work and selection of components and materials.
  • Develop engineering specifications and original design concepts.
  • Provide detailed technical analysis of equipment.
  • Provide machine process audits and make recommendations to improve line efficiencies.
  • Test and debug equipment to isolate defects
  • Prepare layouts using CAD tools
  • Evaluate moderately complex designs; make engineering changes
  • Evaluate new parts
  • Prepare schematics, assemblies, detailed drawings, and bills of material (BOM) for moderately complex equipment
  • Supportmanufacturing/assemblyteams
  • May travel to customer site to support field teams with technical assistance as required
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related engineering field required
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience for Level I consideration
  • Eplan or AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, Servo
  • Manufacturing experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to perform all Level I duties competently
  • Ability to read and interpret moderately complex electrical schematics and mechanical assembly layouts
  • Working knowledge of CAD and engineering systems
  • Strong logical and reasoning abilities
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods; electrical design and project management
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in customer's facility and manage that relationship
