SSOE is seeking a Structural Engineering Co-op for Fall 2026. This is an onsite position in our Troy, MI office. The role requires daily in-person attendance at one of these locations, and remote or hybrid work is not available.

The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Performs assigned tasks under close supervision of Department Manager or designee. Receives specific and detailed instruction.
  • Basic computer, Revit or AutoCAD skills a plus.
  • Learns and uses department standards, methods, and procedures respective to field of study.
  • Meets various deadlines on daily duties or special projects as assigned by DM or designee.
  • Occasional local travel may required for client visits.
  • Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.

  • Students must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program, majoring in Civil Engineering with interest in the Structural Engineering track or completed structural engineering coursework.
  • Rising Junior or Senior academic year preferred.
  • Must be registered with the Office of Professional Experience Program or equivalent Co-op office.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Salary range: $20-$23 per hour depending on year in school.
