The University of Louisville School of Medicine's Division of Cardiovascular MedicinewithUofL Healthseeks a board-certified/eligible electrophysiologist to join its expanding program. The ideal candidate will be an academically oriented clinician who excels in both patient care and teaching of house staff and fellows with a strong interest in clinical or translational research.A competitive annual salary plus potential productivity bonus is offered in addition to a robust recruitment package.

The division is expecting strong growth and recruitment and, as such, is poised to become a regional leader in cardiac service line delivery and patient volumes. There is strong financial backing and commitment from the university to achieve its educational, research, and clinical care missions.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The appropriate candidate will have clinical interests in consultative and outpatient EP care and expertise in all aspects of clinical cardiac electrophysiology, including implantable devices, mapping, and complex ablations. Excellent opportunities for collaborative research exist with the state-of-the-art facilities at the Institute of Molecular Cardiology. Applicants must possess or be eligible for Kentucky licensure and qualify for a faculty position of Assistant Professor or higher. There are leadership opportunities and directorships available for qualified individuals.

UofL's Cardiology Division has a robust academic department consisting of specialists in all subdivisions of cardiology, including electrophysiology, interventional and structural cardiology, heart failure and transplant/mechanical device support, ECMO, cardio-oncology, preventive cardiology, advanced imaging, and complex cardiac and aortic/vascular surgery.

Research initiatives are encouraged, and candidates will be expected to establish an academic portfolio and an area of expertise. Fellow and resident education is an integral component of the job. There are opportunities for academic advancement and leadership in committees, depending on the level of interest and performance.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine; board certification in cardiology, and eligibility for licensure in Kentucky are required.
