Job description

Job Responsibilities
The Chemical Operator is responsible for maintaining safety, plant production, operating efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Follows and encourages others to follow all organizational safety rules and practices.

  • Fosters & maintains a positive work environment.

  • Performs basic tasks interacting with pumps, pipes, valves, and HMIs to prepare and charge material into the manufacturing batch process.

  • Operates a forklift to load/unload trailers and transport materials.

  • Performs basic lab testing.

  • Counts and report inventory daily and assist monthly inventory counts.

  • Folows and perform lock out tag out (LOTO) for maintenance work on equipment.

  • Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe environment.

  • Maintain accurate records including batch sheets, lab data entries, and shift turnover documents.

  • Recommends methods to improve production methods and equipment.

  • Assists others in troubleshooting problems.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements
  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Previous chemical plant experience preferred.

  • Ability to climb steps, stairs, and ladders on a repetitive basis.

  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations necessary for position's essential duties.
