Saalex is seeking an Computer Operator II in Ridgecrest, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $27.09/hr

Work Location: Fully onsite.

Job Summary:

The Computer Operator II supports the data collection, processing, tracking, and distribution activities in support of flight test and range operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for documenting flight events, processing and delivering mission data products, maintaining data transfer records, and ensuring data is properly classified, marked, and archived in accordance with established procedures. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work with multiple data systems, and experience supporting operational workflows in a fast-paced technical environment. The Computer Operator II will also assist with data management, equipment accountability, troubleshooting support, and technical reporting while ensuring compliance with customer and organizational requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Note taking during flight events via computer keyboard and headset.
  • Processing Data Requests for flight events.
  • Burn data on CDs and DVDs and deliver to the Land Range Data Desk.
  • Request Data Markings and Classifications for events and upload them to the NAS.
  • Log data transfers such as discs burned and create WPs in the Database.
  • Complete required training as needed.
  • Create CD Labels for discs.
  • Collect Calibration Approvals from threat systems and upload them to NAS.
  • Request and upload Threat Calibration Approvals.
  • Retrieve and upload Slate TFW data.
  • Comply with established computer operations policies, standards, procedures, and data handling requirements.
  • Gather and organize data for engineering, technical, operational, and management reporting purposes.
  • Organize, monitor, and maintain computer input, output, and data processing workflows.
  • Assist in the maintenance, inventory control, and accountability of computer equipment and associated peripherals.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting operational hardware, software, and data processing issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support related to operational computer systems and data processing activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of contract and customer requirements.

 Working Conditions

  • Work is performed primarily in an office, laboratory, or data processing environment.
  • Frequent use of computers and data processing equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or media up to 20 pounds may be required.

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in computer operations, data processing, data management, information systems support, or related technical work.
