ABOUT THE ROLE

As a member of the Oro site team, the Primary Plant Operator position will execute the daily tasks of maintaining and operating an aggregate processing plant in accordance with Amrize's best practices and policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipment's operation.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Operations: Daily operations of a stationary crushing plant while meeting safety and production targets.
  • Safety Culture: Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, Joint Health and Safety Coordinators, subcontractors and suppliers, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of "zero" safety incidents.
  • Compliance: Promotes safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines.
  • Site Standards: Ensure that the plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional.
  • Equipment Standards: Ensure assigned equipment is operated to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Plant Maintenance: Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections regarding preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed.
  • Operational Support: Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
  • Shift Schedule: This position is for Afternoon shift (Approximately 11:00 am to 10 pm) Monday to Friday, with optional Saturday's.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Industrial plant operation experience or heavy equipment operation experience are considered assets.

Additional Requirements:

  • Training in First aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner, confined space, and working-at-heights.
  • Specific mobile equipment training.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform extensive manual labor tasks.
  • Computer literacy is an asset.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipmentย ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
