These roles may include monitoring computer systems, performing maintenance tasks, running batch processes, or providing IT support outside regular business hours. Such positions are common in industries that require 24/7 IT support, like data centers, healthcare, or financial services.

To thrive as a Computer Network Engineer, you need a solid understanding of networking protocols, troubleshooting, and network design, typically supported by a degree in computer science or information technology. Familiarity with tools such as Cisco routers and switches, network monitoring software, and certifications like CCNA or CompTIA Network+ is essential.
