Job Summary
The IT intern will assist the IT team in a variety of tasks spanning end user support, backend testing, front end development, and department administration.
Learning Outcomes: This position will allow the applicant to learn about the various areas of IT, tools and collaborations with departments and user with the organization.
Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Interact with end users and gather information about issues and use cases.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues
  • Perform testing on a variety of systems
  • Update documentation for end users, technicians, and administrators
  • Liaison with Purchasing

Required Education and Experience
Sparton interns must meet the following criteria:
  • Active pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress or recent graduates within one year of successfully completing a bachelor's or master's program. Must be verified as part of the background check process.
  • Experience with using web based and PC base software tools and systems.
  • Understanding of PC architectures
  • Understanding of networking concepts
  • Understanding of computer operating systems and how to configure them
  • IT certifications, such as A+ are recommended
  • Applicants with a Software development background will also be considered
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to work on-site in De Leon Springs, FL

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Good working knowledge of computer and networking technology.
  • Ability to use original thinking and ingenuity to solve problems.
  • Ability to write technical reports and contribute to presentations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Must show initiative and motivation, and have the ability to act independently to resolve technical issues.
