ROLE SUMMARY: The Information Technology Intern supports the hotel’s technology infrastructure and digital guest experience within a luxury hospitality environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to hotel systems including guest-facing technology, restaurant POS platforms, and enterprise IT infrastructure. The intern will work closely with IT leadership to ensure seamless system performance that supports both guest satisfaction and operational excellence. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Provide first-line technical support for hotel team members across departments including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Sales & Events, Finance, and Operations. 

  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues across hotel systems. 

  • Support hospitality technology platforms including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, payment devices, and guest Wi-Fi networks. 

  • Assist in the setup, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, printers, POS terminals, tablets, and mobile devices. 

  • Support guest-facing technology including digital signage, meeting room technology, and event support systems. 

  • Participate in IT projects including system upgrades, hardware installations, and technology rollouts. 

  • Assist with IT asset management, inventory tracking, and documentation of equipment lifecycle. 

  • Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within the IT service management system. 

  • Assist in maintaining enterprise Wi-Fi and network infrastructure to support both guest connectivity and internal operations. 

  • Support payment processing systems and PCI-compliant envrionments, gaining exposure to secure financial technology operations. 

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to improve system performance, operational efficiency, and the overall digital guest experience. 

  • Support cybersecurity practices including user access management, device compliance, and basic security monitoring. 

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to improve technology efficiency and guest experience. 

  • All other duties as assigned. 

ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout hotel property for extended periods. 

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 25–50 lbs as needed (equipment, hardware, etc.). 

  • Ability to work in varying environments including office spaces, back-of-house areas, and guest-facing spaces. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows preferred), and networking fundamentals. 

  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. 

  • Flexible schedule — must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail. 

  • Passion for learning technology in a hospitality environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or IT support. 

  • Familiarity with hospitality systems such as PMS or POS platforms. 

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN). 

  • Exposure to IT service management tools or ticketing systems.
