Job description

Job Summary

The Network Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining and optimizing the performance of enterprise network infrastructures, telephony systems, and related IT equipment across all James Avery sites in Corporate, Manufacturing, and Retail environments. Working under Infrastructure leadership, this role independently monitors network performance, resolves incidents, maintains configurations, and supports infrastructure projects to ensure reliable operations, while developing broad technical expertise across networking, systems, and security disciplines in a multi-site enterprise environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Administer and maintain network enterprise infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless access points, and associated cabling and hardware.
  • Monitor network performance and system health, respond to alerts and incidents, investigate anomalies and escalate complex issues to senior staff as appropriate. 
  • Participate in the design and implementation of multi-server Windows and Linux physical and virtual environments including IP address schemes, DNS, and network Ether-Channel (Bonding) configurations.
  • Assist with network security administration including firewall rule reviews, content filtering, and log collection and escalate security events to appropriate teams. 
  • Provide telecommunications support including design, project management, analysis, and implementation of new voice and video technologies.
  • Design, configure, deploy and maintain analog and digital telephony systems using various technologies including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and session initiation protocol (SIP).
  • Administer DNS, DHCP, and IP address management, and maintain accurate network documentation and asset inventory.
  • Support hybrid network connectivity, including cloud-based services and integration with on-premises infrastructure as needed.
  • Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives and within budget.
  • Maintain VPN and remote access infrastructure including user access configuration, certificate management, and basic troubleshooting for site-to-site and remote access connections.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions on network hardware and software applications, telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues.
  • Track and resolve support tickets while documenting issues, resolutions and operational procedures for future reference.
  • Manage assigned infrastructure projects and contribute to capacity planning, system reliability, availability, security, and cost-effective network design.

WHAT IS REQURIED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 2 years of experience in network administration, IT support, or a related technical role.
  • Thorough understanding of networking concepts including, but not limited to LANs, WANs, DNS, security, routing protocols, VPNs, IP protocols, VLANs, subnetting, and related technologies.
  • Subject matter expertise with LAN and WAN technologies and common network administration tasks, including NAT, ACLs, routing protocols, switching, firewall rules, and related configurations.
  • Experience with VPN technologies and basic firewall administration. 
  • Experience with VoIP and Call Center design, troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Familiarity with essential network monitoring tools.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills to quickly identify, isolate, and resolve network connectivity and hardware problems.
  • Ability to travel to various work locations as business need requires.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with platforms such as Zabbix, SNMP-based monitoring.
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and basic Active Directory administration.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
