Job description

Civil CAD Technician - Land Development

Harmony Homes & Development are leaders in community design, land development, construction, and engineering. With large-scale projects in Nevada and Arizona, the Company is a multi-disciplinary firm diversified in several areas business.

Gypsum seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Las Vegas, NV as a Civil CAD Technician- Land Development.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under supervision, provides proficiency in computer-assisted drafting & design to support the technical services of the company.

JOB DUTIES

•       Performs varied and complex computer-aided drafting and design work.

•       Make design adaptations and produce variations on a design from verbal specifications or concepts.

•       Assists with CAD production of plans and drawings, primarily for industrial and residential land development projects that may be associated with current mining operations.

•       Prepare earthwork calculations, quantity takeoffs, exhibits, etc.

•       Assists planners and designers to develop preliminary layout and/or final drawings of master plans, site plans, phasing maps, roadways, and mass grading.

•       Coordinates with other disciplines as required.

•       Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•    Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field of study, plus a minimum of 3 years related experience is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

•       High-competency CADD skills required, along with other associated programs.

•       Must be able to work with Civil 3D in an efficient and productive manner.

•       Proficient in “SketchUp” and other modeling software is preferred.

•       Civil engineering experience working on land development, subdivision mapping, infrastructure planning, and residential projects is preferred.

•       None required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

•       Must be able to take direction from project manager and design staff.

•       Must be able to coordinate well with others.

•       Must have ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment.

•       Must have ability to provide CAD drafting on design packages for submittal to various municipalities and agencies having jurisdiction for review.

•       Must have ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

•       Must have ability to visit project sites, if necessary.

•       Must have ability to assemble and analyze data.
