Job description

*Active Secret Clearance required for consideration* Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer III to support the NIWC PAC Information Technology Management Support Services contract based in San Diego, CA . This position is a full-time role that will be 100% onsite . This position is critical in safeguarding our network and assets, ensuring robust security measures and procedures are maintained. As a Cybersecurity Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in incident response, threat hunting, and cybersecurity monitoring operations within a high-stakes environment protecting substantial assets. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and execute cybersecurity incident response activities, including investigation, reporting, and remediation. * Perform cyber incident triage to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact. * Administer and maintain enterprise Elastic Stack environments. * Conduct proactive threat hunting using Computer Network Defense (CND) tools (IDS, firewalls, network traffic logs, and host system logs). * Identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies to strengthen cybersecurity posture. * Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and define follow-up corrective actions. * Maintain detailed documentation and accurate incident records. * Provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders to improve overall security posture. * Stay current with cybersecurity threats, trends, and incident response best practices. * Mentor team members and lead complex incident response efforts when required. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure both cloud and on-prem environments. * 10+ years of cybersecurity or incident response experience * 3+ years of hands-on administration and engineering with the Elastic Stack * Education:
* Bachelors Degree * Certifications (IAT III - one required):
