Job description

Sigma Defense is currently seeking a Computer Network Architect to work in support of the Army for the Network Modernization & Mission Network Technical Service Support program (NetMod). NetMod sets forth the work efforts required to provide product technical support services for systems and equipment being produced, fielded, modified or supported by PdM Network Modernization (NetMod) and PdM Mission Network of the Project Manager (PM) Tactical Network (TN) of the Program Executive Office for Command Control and Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T). This support may also include future systems and equipment that is acquired for the Army to maintain its technological advantage.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a Computer Network Architect.
  • 5+ years in the Department of Defense supporting computer networking technologies highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, and VCP-NV.
  • Experience performing simulations and capacity planning to predict future network needs and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Experience researching and recommending appropriate network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (network management tools) to meet business requirement.
  • Foundational understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS).
  • Experience with network automation and scripting is preferred.
  • Experience in network design principles, including routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving network issues, and implementing necessary upgrades.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to accurately exchange information with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science from an accredited college or university in an unspecified field of study.
  • Relevant experience and industry certifications may be accepted in lieu of education and experience requirements.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • A clearance will not be sponsored.

  • Responsible for designing, planning, and implementing computer networks.
  • Assess NETMOD business needs to create efficient data communication systems by utilizing hardware and software components like routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ensure network security and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to analyze network traffic, identify potential issues, and propose upgrades to maintain optimal network functionality.
  • Must be capable of demonstrating experience in conducting analysis and developing solutions and in the application of information technology.
  • Produce and review technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical area.
  • Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service.
  • Create detailed network blueprints, including LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), and intranets, considering factors like bandwidth requirements, security protocols, and scalability.

Salary Range: $92,000 - $133,000 annually.
