Job description

Manufacturing Engineer (On-Site)
Manufacturing Engineer, Position Overview
This is an on-site Manufacturing Engineer role with schedule flexibility to support production operations across first and/or second shift. Typical working hours fall within a 07:00-18:00 time band, with limited remote work permitted in special, pre-approved situations.
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in the development, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, working closely with domestic and international suppliers as well as cross-functional internal teams. This position requires a strong hands-on engineering background, technical leadership, and the ability to operate effectively across the full supply chain.
Key Responsibilities (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to):
Manufacturing Process Development & Validation
  • Lead the development, documentation, validation, and ongoing verification of manufacturing processes.
  • Define and execute process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ongoing process verification plans.
  • Establish process standards, ensure process capability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support and facilitate the successful launch of new products into production.

Quality & Risk Management
  • Participate in and support risk management activities including DFMEA, PFMEA, DFA, and DFM.
  • Investigate and respond to production and post-production quality issues, including customer feedback.
  • Act as a technical consultant for CAPA activities, engineering changes, and quality improvements.
  • Support final component and assembly Verification & Validation (V&V) activities.

Supplier & Product Transfer Support
  • Support and lead product and component transfers to external suppliers.
  • Lead remediation efforts for engineering designs and documentation to support successful product transfers.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve capability, quality, and lean manufacturing performance.

Technical & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to:
    • Purchasing / Supply Chain
    • Quality Assurance & Quality Control
    • Receiving
    • Machine Shop
    • Assembly
    • Configuration Management
    • Shipping
  • Act as a technical liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
  • Initiate Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs).
  • Participate actively in internal and external technical and project review meetings.

Tooling, Fixtures & CAD
  • Design and develop fixtures, tooling, and production aids to support manufacturing and assembly.
  • Use 3D CAD tools to support fixture design and layout modifications.
  • Support product designs from a Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) perspective.

Lean & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing principles internally and with suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for waste reduction, cost savings, and efficiency improvements.
  • Continuously improving manufacturing systems, processes, and documentation.

Required Technical Expertise
  • Strong technical background in:
    • 3D CAD design
    • Aluminum extrusions
    • Sheet metal and metal fabrication
    • Welding and metal stamping
    • CNC machining (3- and 4-axis)
    • Finishing processes (powder coat, anodizing, zinc/nickel plating, etc.)
    • Plastic injection molding
    • Aluminum high-pressure die casting and gravity casting
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assemblies, shop tools, presses, torque tools, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T (or ISO/DIN equivalents).
  • Working knowledge of QC metrology tools.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (from an accredited university).
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering role supporting CNC manufactured parts, finished components, and product transfers.
  • Strong understanding of material properties (metals and polymers), fasteners, and mechanical hardware.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with risk management, validation, and CAPA methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills; able to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CREO Parametric (Pro/ENGINEER), SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
