A Day in the Life
As a CAD Drafter at Sunrise Engineering, each day unfolds with a sense of purpose and excitement. Collaborating with a dynamic team of engineers and project managers, you embark on a journey to create innovative solutions for community engineering projects in transportation, land development, municipal, water, and infrastructure.
Your day-to-day activities may include:
  • Prepare accurate detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, exhibits, and technical documents.
  • Develop plan sets for roadway, site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Assist engineers with drafting, design revisions, quantity calculations, and project documentation.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, alignments, surfaces, profiles, and cross-sections.
  • Ensure drawings comply with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate drawing production with engineers, surveyors, and other disciplines.
  • Organize and manage CAD files, reference data, and project records.
  • Support construction administration efforts by updating record drawings and responding to contractor questions.
  • Participate in quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving CAD standards, software tools, and industry best practices
