About the position
The individual in this role is a highly skilled and experienced professional, adept at translating intricate field survey data into precise and sophisticated drawings and maps using advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This senior position demands a comprehensive understanding of both surveying principles and CAD techniques, enabling autonomous management of complex drafting projects. Key responsibilities include creating, editing, and overseeing intricate CAD drawings and 3D models, executing meticulous calculations, and ensuring that all work adheres to exacting standards of accuracy and quality. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Furthermore, the Survey CAD Technician 3 serves as a mentor, sharing expertise and offering guidance to less experienced CAD technicians. They assist with the creation and implementation of templates and check lists to increase efficiency and accuracy of department projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field preferred but not required. Some positions might accept equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
• Senior-level position with 5+ years of CAD experience.
• Proven leadership skills with ability to manage workload while providing support and mentorship to junior CAD technicians
• Ability to perform a wide array of survey maps including topo, ALTA, Boundaries, Subdivision Plats, etc.
• In depth understanding and ability to read construction plans, procedures and perform field calcs.
• Ability to perform essential functions with minimal oversight.
Proficient understanding of survey drafting practices with ability to apply knowledge to other surveying types with minimal assistance
