Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced CAD Technician to join our surveying team. This is a Full-time in-office position, located in Charlotte, NC. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in transforming field data into accurate and detailed survey drawings using CAD software. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects while utilizing your technical skills and expertise in land surveying.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Convert field survey data into detailed CAD drawings, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking plans.

  • Interpret survey notes, sketches, and other data to accurately depict survey features and measurements.

  • Prepare drawings and maps for client deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with surveyors and project managers to address design changes and modifications as needed.

  • Maintain organized project files and documentation to facilitate efficient project management and communication.

  • Assist in quality control checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of survey drawings.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 YEARS OF CAD EXPERIENCE IN A SURVEYING OR ENGINEERING INDUSTRY REQUIRED

  • Very competitive salary - will commensurate with experience

  • Proficiency in CAD software (Carlson AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.) with a strong understanding of CAD drafting principles.

  • Knowledge of land surveying techniques, terminology, and industry standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans for generating field layout data.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings within project deadlines.
