The ideal candidate for the CAD Drafter position must be able to:


· Prepare fireplace and chimney drawings and provide support to the project management team. 

· Interpret plans and specifications 

· Handle designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision.

· Create drawings from written and verbal specifications from start to end

· Communicate and work closely with Estimators and Project Managers to ensure coordination design effort is maintained.

· Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.

· Maintain all revisions of project drawings.

· Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications

· Pay attention to detail

· Keep supervisor informed of your workloads and progress

· Improve industry knowledge and skills

· Maintain a professional appearance

· Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.

· Keep an organized workspace ensuring any paperwork is easy to locate. 

· Work effectively with supervisor

· Keep all CAD drawings organized on the computer

· Input ideas for the department

· Take additional responsibilities

· Be professional and always courteous


Skills required:


· Proficient in AutoCAD

· Proficient in Solid Works (Preferred)

· Read architectural/structural drawings

· Able to use Microsoft Word / Excel / Projects with proficiency

· Attention to detail, carefully following instruction and checking work for accuracy

· Good timekeeping and work ethic


Additional requirements:


· Ability to build and maintain drawings effectively

· Needs to be able to take direction from Supervisor or Project Manager

· Ability to work in the face of pressure of deadlines

· Communicates with Estimators / Project Managers for the project(s) they are assigned

· Attend occasional conference calls with clients team for collaborating and to provide updates. 


Expectations:


· Create shop drawings that our clients come to expect from us

· Provide shop drawings for review that requires minimal changes

· Primary purpose of drawings are for coordination with other trades as well as for our clients
