Who we are looking for: 

This position will carry out a variety of physical tasks to include properly performing, recording and reporting the results of basic laboratory procedures for soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete (for compaction, particle size, quality, and chemical composition) using a variety of specialized equipment including nuclear soils density gauge, scales, meters, or other apparatus.

What you’ll be doing:

Including but not limited to:

  • Performing basic laboratory tests on soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt and preparing reports of results
  • Maintaining a log of all samples
  • Apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, and inspect constructed work
  • Entering test results into a web-based computer program
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Communicating with clients, contractors, engineers and technicians regarding construction laboratory testing
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need to have: 

  • No experience needed, 1+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • ACI Level I Concrete, state DOT, or ICC certifications in concrete highly preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and meat deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve goals
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Valid driver’s license and good-standing driving record
  • Some travel will be required
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
