Families First Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team! If you are passionate about healthcare and providing excellent patient care, we want to hear from you. This is a part-time position working at our West Jordan location.

Position: Registered NurseLocation: Stansbury ParkType: Full-Time

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse I (Triage RN) provides clinical assessment and triage support in an outpatient pediatric setting. This role focuses on same-day symptom evaluation, determining appropriate level of care, and providing evidence-based patient guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Triage & Patient Communication

  • Manage nurse triage calls and portal messages using pediatric protocols.
  • Assess symptoms and determine urgency of care.
  • Provide home care guidance and education.
  • Escalate emergent concerns to providers immediately.
  • Document all triage encounters accurately in the EHR.
  • Review and process prescription refill requests within scope, escalating to providers as appropriate.
  • Review incoming lab results for clinical urgency and route appropriately to providers.

Clinical Support

  • Support providers with urgent patient needs.
  • Communicate lab results and treatment plans as directed.
  • Assist with in-clinic triage assessments when necessary.
  • Perform blood draws and specimen collection following best practices and scope of practice.
  • Administer intravenous fluids and medications within scope of practice and provider orders.
  • Monitor patients during and after IV therapy and document response in the EHR.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Clinic Managers, Care Coordinators, and MAs.
  • Communicate patient safety concerns promptly.
  • Support onboarding of new clinical staff when needed.

Patient Education

  • Provide education regarding medications, red flag symptoms, and follow-up care.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in Utah.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • CPR/BLS required.
  • Strong assessment and communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Outpatient pediatric clinic setting.
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent patient interaction.
  • Exposure to bodily fluids, cleaning agents, and medical supplies.
  • Occasional travel to other clinics for coverage, training, or support.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to stand and walk as needed.
  • Manual dexterity for documentation and clinical support.
