Job description

What does a Syrup Technician do at Swire Coca-Cola?
The Syrup Technician is responsible for properly receiving and storing concentrate and sweetener, batching syrups scheduled for production according to detailed instructions, monitoring and control of syrup flowing to the production lines, and sanitation within the Syrup Room and associated equipment. Validation and testing of inbound raw materials is occasionally required.
Responsibilities:

  • Batch Syrup as per CCNA recipe
  • Clean and sanitize the syrup room and associated equipment including tanks, lines, manifolds, valves, floors and walls using required personal protective equipment (PPE) and according to relevant work instructions and SSOPs
  • Uphold all safety practices to prevent injury from unsafe work practices and conditions. Report all safety hazards to management
  • Perform analysis of incoming, in process and finished materials using analytical standardized procedures
  • Receive, monitor and report on concentrate and raw material inventories
  • Utilize recipe management computer system
  • Become certified to operate a Powered Industrial Truck/Forklift (PIT) to move raw materials
  • Follow all required work instructions, work aids and forms as they pertain to Quality, Environmental, Safety & Food Safety Policies
  • Understand, monitor and act accordingly to support the following: ISO/GFSI compliance, FDA/USDA regulatory requirements, Food Safety & Quality Programs as implemented by the company
  • Keep accurate and detailed documentation

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (or GED) required
  • 2+ years Lab technician experience required
  • 1+ years Production/ manufacturing experience required OR
  • 1+ years Mixing and Batching experience in the food of beverage industry preferred
  • Familiarity with lab safety, handling hazardous materials preferred
  • Ability toย lift 65 pounds
  • Must be computer proficient, Microsoft Suite
