What's in it for you:

As a Designer V supporting the TCDC/VCDC NPD Pod, you will serve as a senior design resource for new product development and margin expansion initiatives for Airside Data Center Fan Coil Wall (TCDC) and Computer Room Air Handler (VCDC) products. This role provides the opportunity to lead complex design and documentation activities that support concept development, product enhancement, prototype execution, validation readiness, and product release across the data center product portfolio.


This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to develop and refine models, drawings, bills of material, and related documentation that support development programs from early concept through validation and implementation. You will play a key role in evaluating design approaches, supporting new and unique design solutions, incorporating manufacturing and field feedback into product improvements, and helping drive product performance, manufacturability, and year-over-year margin improvement.

What you will do:


Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Lead design activities for Airside Data CenterTCDCandVCDCnew product development and margin expansion projects.
  • Create and maintain complex 2D and 3D models, drawings, bills of material, and related design documentation in support of development programs.
  • Work closely with engineers to develop concept layouts, detailed designs, prototype documentation, validation documentation, and product release documentation.
  • Provide advanced design support for new products, major product enhancements, and design standardization initiatives.
  • Produce designs and documentation utilizing computer-aided design and product lifecycle management systems.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of design and drafting standards, methods, and processes to ensure quality and consistency in deliverables.
  • Lead design updates, engineering changes, and documentation revisions for new and existing products.
  • Identify and resolve complex design issues using sound judgment, technical expertise, and attention to detail.
  • Support prototype builds, product validation activities, and implementation of product enhancements.
  • SupportDFMactivities by working with manufacturing engineers to design quality, safety, and assembly efficiency into the design.
  • SupportCWTreadiness by working with lab engineers to ensure product test-readiness and design for peak product performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, product management, lab, and other cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
  • Drive design improvements that enhance product performance, manufacturability, and year-over-year margin improvement.
  • Incorporate manufacturing, production, and field feedback into drawings, models, and documentation updates.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to less experienced designers as needed.
  • Ensure design deliverables are completed with quality, accuracy, and urgency in a fast-paced environment.


What you will bring:

  • The role requires relevant technical training with 10 years of experience. Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic design or related field.
  • Experience in design, drafting, or product documentation support required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, ProEngineer, or similar CAD tools required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time is required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of design and drafting standards, methods, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to create and maintain complex models, drawings, and bills of material with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to function as a senior design resource within a technical engineering team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple varied tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused, innovative, and quality-minded approach to assigned duties.
  • Ability to adjust to changing demands, priorities, and objectives.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is preferred.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$69,600.00 - $143,700.00
