Job description

Our client, a growing food manufacturing company, is dedicated to producing high-quality, safe, and consistent food products. Their mission is to deliver excellence in food safety and quality through innovation and continuous improvement. They are looking for a skilled Food Quality Technician to join their team in Salt Lake City, Utah!
Position: Food Quality Technician
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (occasional Sundays)
Pay: $18-$21/hour
Reports to: FSQA Manager
Job Summary
We're hiring a Food Quality Technician to help ensure our food products meet the highest safety and quality standards. You'll perform lab testing, monitor production, verify labeling and ingredients, and support compliance with food safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform line checks and quality audits
  • Conduct lab testing (pH, salt, moisture, etc.)
  • Monitor cooking/cooling temps and equipment like metal detectors
  • Verify labeling, ingredients, and product specifications
  • Pull samples for micro testing
  • Enforce GMPs, HACCP, and SQF compliance
  • Document non-conformances and input data into ERP system

Requirements
  • 1+ year in food quality or safety role
  • High school diploma (degree in Food Science preferred)
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willing to work 2nd shift permanently
  • PCQI and HACCP knowledge (certification preferred)
  • Able to lift 40 lbs and work in cold environments
  • Spanish a plus
