Description

PeaceHealth is looking for an experienced RN for our Assistant Nurse Manager role to support the Observation Unit!

  • Part Time, 0.8 FTE, Day Shift position. 
  • The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is 64.55 - 96.83. 

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

The position is responsible for providing managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager. This position is directly accountable to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for support in the following areas: hiring; staffing and scheduling; orientation; performance assessment; budget monitoring; maintaining and establishing patient care standards; policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of Registered Nurse Practice to provide individualized, safe and efficient care to patients and assistance to their families and visitors. Proactively implement measures to promote a safety climate on the unit, considering the inter-relationship of people, tools, and environment in which are is provided.
  • Provide leadership, management, and communication skills to department.
  • Assist Nurse Manager in planning, recommendation, and implementation of clinical service delivery. Recommend policy changes which enhance nursing ability to achieve top quartile performance.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with the staff supervision, counseling and documentation of personnel actions.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with the evaluation of work performance and performance assessments.
  • Promote, establish and maintain open communication.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with budget monitoring.
  • Assist with the supervision and direction of the department Clinical Educator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring!

Education: 

  • Degree from an accredited School of Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing REQUIRED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF HIRE

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years applicable nursing experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory/leadership experience in healthcare preferred
  • Financial and budgetary experience preferred

Credentials

  • Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support and
  • Required: Registered Nurse in state of practice and

Skills

  • Strong problem solving, decision making and time management skills (Preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal (Preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of computers including MS Office applications (Required)

Department / Location Specific Notes

Oregon West Network

  • BSN required within 6 months of hire.
  • Unit certification may be required in the following areas:
    • Women's and Children's- PALS, ACLS, NRP
    • Critical Care - ACLS, TNCC, NIH
    • Emergency - ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
    • Medical Surgical - NIHSS
  • Cath Lab Department- Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience is required.
  • SHMC RB - At request of Clinical Leadership, ED Assistant Nurse Manager for this specific location may be assigned the additional role of Assistant Nurse Manager for Clinical Decision Unit and will have CareConnect access to support this function.
