WCC is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to be considered when part time HVAC/R Lab support staff is needed. Needs may become available prior to or during each semester. Upon successful submission of your application and required documents, you will be considered for future part time opportunities on a per semester basis.
Position Summary:The primary responsibility will be assisting the Department Chair, Faculty and Classified Faculty for setup and teardown of Lab assignments for student completion.
Hours/Schedule:
Schedule can vary- days, nights and/or weekends up to a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist Faculty during Lab sessions by performing the following duties:
- Maintain a clean working area around all equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment for students and staff.
- Prepare Lab equipment for scheduled classes.
- Maintain all Lab tools and equipment, as directed.
- Report all non-working or unsafe equipment.
- Breakdown laboratories at the end of each scheduled class.
• Assist with promotional events, as directed.
• Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.
• Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
• Capable of lifting and transporting at least 50 pounds.
• Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support the effective performance of assigned duties, enhance productivity, improve communication and information management, support decision-making, and other responsibilities, while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements, institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in HVAC classes.
• Successfully completed HVA 101 and HVA 103.
• Proficient in computer communications through sending and receiving email.
• Must be available to work days, nights and/or weekends.
• Demonstrated ability to lift and transport at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to use workplace technology relevant to the position, including the capacity to learn and appropriately leverage emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to assess the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content, maintain confidentiality, and apply sound judgment and ethical practices in the use of technology.

• HVAC/R Residential Certification.
• Familiar with the HVAC/R Department's course curriculum and objectives.
• Familiar with OSHA and SDS requirements.
