Job description

The Laboratory Coordinator I provides broad support to the lab that encompasses both Analytical and Quality functions while bridging with Operations. This includes accurate and timely data reporting, sample prioritization, and sample preparation to support daily production and shipping targets. The Laboratory Coordinator I reports directly to the Quality Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lab Reporting:
    • Communicating daily operations priority and setting targets in sample tracking tools. Utilizing and maintaining the various Excel based tools for reporting results to Operations and preparing for incoming samples.
    • Utilizes SAP and QMS software to verify material certifications based on production requirements and validate them against customer requirements.
    • Works with lab, engineering and sales staff to determine testing required to support customer specifications.
    • Provides support for data entry.
    • Generates non-conformance reports when required to notify affected parties and disposition material found to be outside of specification due to test results.
  • Quality Management Systems Support:
    • Maintains system to track the disposition of lab standards.
    • Provides support for incoming raw materials, including sample receipt, record keeping of vendor-supplied certificates, and manual data input.
    • Supports the Quality Director to maintain training records and associated paperwork.
    • Manage lab equipment calibration including coordinating with third party vendors and maintaining certificates.
  • Other Duties:
    • Manages ordering for the lab through SAP to maintain established stock levels of inventory to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
    • Collaborate with Purchasing to complete ordering for CAPEX projects.
    • Assists with sample shipment for 3rd party analysis.
    • Conducts daily/weekly safety checks in lab.
    • Conducts sample preparation and minor lab testing (APD,
    • Assists with quarterly inventory for the lab and provides training for coordinator duties.
    • Performs general or other tasks upon request.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school completion required, with preference given to employees that have additional education, experience with analytical chemistry, or experience in laboratory environments. Good pre-existing computer skills are a requirement, including the Microsoft office suite, as well as the ability to learn and apply skills to new software packages.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: As this role requires communication with customers, employees, internal & external engineering and senior management, the individual must have excellent oral and written skills in English.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS: The individual must be able to solve basic mathematical equations.
REASONING ABILITY: Sound decision-making skills are a pre-requisite. Also, the individual must be able to take decisive action based on limited input and determine when a decision requires supervisory input.

Pay Range:
$23.76-$29.35
Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
