Davidson is seeking a Mid-Level Test and Evaluation Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL. to support the integration, test, and operational deployment of ML-enabled C2 software for VLF transmission sites. This role focuses on transitioning software from development environments into operational Navy equipment, supporting system integration, formal and informal test events, and ensuring compliance with safety, operational, and readiness requirements. You will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, RF engineers, and operators to validate that system changes perform as intended and are safe for operational use. This position is well-suited for an engineer with experience in Navy processes, system integration, and fielded communications or mission systems.

Job Responsibilities:โ€ฏ

  • Integration of software capabilities into operational VLF communications equipment
  • Planning and execution of system integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Support to developmental test, operational test, and site acceptance testing
  • Validation of system behavior under operational conditions
  • Coordination of test activities with engineering teams and end users
  • Support safety reviews, compliance documentation, and readiness assessments
  • Identify, document, and track defects, risks, and system limitations
  • Ensure system changes comply with applicable Navy requirements, safety policies, and operational constraints
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during integration and test


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration, test, and evaluation roles
  • Familiarity with Navy/DoW test and evaluation processes
  • Experience working with operational communications or mission systems
  • Ability to work effectively in field and lab environments
  • Must be a U. S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems in operational environments
  • Experience supporting communications systems, RF systems, or command and control systems

Clearance:

  • Currently holds an Active DoD Secret Clearance or is able to obtain a Secret Clearance
