Job Title (including department IE ICU, MS, etc) Cardiac Cath Lab Tech CWR Location/Facility Name OUMC Shift Day Shift- 7:00 AM-6:30 PM Hours Per Week 40, 4X10 Weekend Requirement Weekend required as needed Holiday Requirement Holiday required, in 1 summer and 1 winter On-Call Requirement On- call is required, 7 shifts minimum, 10 Max. Float Requirement No Float required. Required Years of Experience Minimum 1 years of experience required in Cardiac Cath lab. Permanent pacemaker placement experience is preferred. Usage of Impella and ballon pump required Preferred Years of Experience Mac lab experience is preferred, EPIC. Required Licenses & Certifications BLS, Radiology certification. ARRT Preferred Scrub Color Green.
Schedule
· Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
· Hours: 40 hours per week (4 x 10-hour shifts)
· Weekend Requirement: As needed
· Holiday Requirement: One summer holiday and one winter holiday
· On-Call Requirement: Required (minimum 7 shifts, maximum 10 shifts during the assignment)

Position Summary
The Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technologist assists physicians during invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures. The technologist is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, operating specialized cardiac equipment, monitoring patient hemodynamics, and supporting advanced circulatory devices, including Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP).
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare procedure rooms, sterile trays, and specialized equipment for cardiac catheterization procedures.
· Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures.
· Support temporary and permanent pacemaker placements.
· Assist with circulatory support devices, including Impella and IABP.
· Set up, calibrate, and monitor hemodynamic equipment.
· Obtain, calculate, and analyse hemodynamic data, cardiac output, and oximetry readings.
· Operate power injectors and associated sterile equipment.
· Assist with patient positioning and monitoring.
· Maintain digital imaging and cardiovascular information systems (CVIS).
· Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, radial band application, and hemostasis.
· Recognize and interpret cardiac arrhythmias.
· Maintain inventory and ensure procedure readiness.
· Follow radiation safety protocols and infection prevention standards.
· Participate in the department's on-call rotation.
· Perform routine equipment maintenance and quality checks.
· Safely lift up to 40 lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs., and stand for extended periods.
Required Experience
· Minimum 3 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
· Strong experience assisting with invasive cardiac procedures.
· Experience with Impella and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) is required.
· Experience with permanent pacemaker placement is preferred.
Preferred Experience
· Mac-Lab experience.
· EPIC electronic medical record experience.
Education
· Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist, Radiologic Technologist, or Applied Science program.
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in a health science field preferred.
Required Certifications
· BLS (AHA)
· ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) preferred
· Radiology Certification preferred
· State Radiologic License (if applicable)
Additional Requirements
· ACLS must be obtained within 3 months of employment (if not already held).
· RCIS certification or Radiologic Technologist License within one year of hire (facility requirement) is preferred.
