Job description

Description:

The Multi-Skilled Technician Instructor provides instruction for days or evenings for  STNA/Phlebotomy and EKG classes for the Course Multi-Skilled Technician. Duties include planning lessons, monitoring skills and assessing student progress on an ongoing basis, collecting, recording and reporting all necessary information related to students in a timely manner.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide instruction starting April 2026.
  • Attends 5 day blended orientation. 2 days virtual and 3 days in Co, Ohio with Healthcare Coordinator, travel accommodations provided.
  • Flexibility with class times are available, days or evenings. We can work with your schedule.
  • Teaches the EKG/Phlebotomy curriculum certified through MedCA, and CNA curriculum according to Ohio Dept of Health. 
  • May need to update curriculum to best practices, lesson plans, teaching materials to aid students in developing skills and confidence in healthcare areas. 
  • Integrates computer-aided instruction into lessons as appropriate. 
  • Teaches hands on skills in the healthcare courses.
  • Attends Clinical sites with students and oversees for safety.
  • Attends skills lab testing for safety of students and volunteers.
  • Collects, records, and reports all necessary information related to students.  



Requirements:
  • Associate degree in nursing but Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred or a Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomy Technician with at least 5 years of experience to instruct Phlebotomy or EKG technician classes.
  • Experience working with adult and High School learners preferred.
  • CPR Certification and Bloodborne Pathogen certification
  • Active Train the Trainer Certification to teach CNA- (required) or needed within 3 months of employment. Paid for by Employer if needed.
  • Registered Nurse with active license for the state of Ohio
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the Nursing home setting(required),and Hospital setting(preferred) with most recent experience within the last year
  • Ability to perform and teach an EKG test, venipuncture and basic skills of activities of daily living
