Job Requirements
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) certification required
  • BLS certification required before patient care
  • Polysomnography state licensure preferred where applicable
  • At least 1 year of experience in neurophysiology, sleep medicine, or sleep disorders medicine required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong computer skills, including accurate data entry and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Knowledge of sleep medicine testing standards and AASM scoring guidelines
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for overnight sleep studies and clearly explain procedures
  • Review clinical data and select appropriate testing modalities based on patient information
  • Operate polysomnographic equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic recordings in a hospital sleep lab
  • Perform sleep staging and event scoring according to AASM guidelines
  • Identify normal and abnormal findings and document detailed technical reports
  • Review studies with physicians and complete additional testing when needed
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and support a clean, organized work area
  • Assist with patient scheduling, office tasks, and coordination as needed
  • Follow all hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection control practices
  • Maintain continuing education and stay current in the neurodiagnostic and sleep technologist field
