What You'll Do (Job Overview):
As a Sanitation Associate at Vital Farms, you will work within our state-of-the-art manufacturing and production facility cleaning and sanitizing our facility, materials, and processing equipment. This role at Egg Central Station (ECS) is critical in bridging the gap from local family farms to grocery stores for our consumers. You'll be on your feet during each twelve-hour shift, moving, lifting, loading and working with air-conditioned and sunlight-filled warehouse.
  • 2-2-3 schedule: 2-week cycle
    • Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on
    • Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off
  • Shifts: 12 hour shifts
    • Day Crew - 7am to 7pm
    • Night Crew - 7pm to 7am

A Day as a Sanitation Associate at Egg Central Station:
  • Follow all Vital Farms policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP'S) while working in alignment with all regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Operate sanitation equipment and safely handle chemicals.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness by cleaning spills, processing areas, entrances, facilities, and break room.
  • Support GMP initiatives by cleaning and stocking footbaths and hand-washing stations.
  • Manage egg washer water changes, run CIP circuits, and assist in cleaning processing equipment.
  • Titrate chemicals and ensure appropriate levels on chemical mixing stations dispensers, material washers, and CIP circuits.
  • Maintains egg waste accordingly utilizing the Egg Press equipment, in accordance with SOP.
  • Regularly audit equipment and supplies and communicate any replacement or reorder needs.
  • Operate lab equipment and perform testing in a timely manner to prevent downtime/processing delays.
  • Obtain certification to operate a scissor lift or pallet jack
  • Help with special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • 1 year of sanitation or manufacturing experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English for safety and quality reasons.
  • Able to frequently lift and / or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods of time.
  • Good manual dexterity working with hands to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Able to work safely in an environment where regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Able to work safely in an environment when exposed to wet conditions.
  • Must have good math and computer skills.
  • Able to work without direct supervision.
