Tareen Dermatology is committed to providing compassionate, state-of-the-art dermatologic care with an emphasis on early diagnosis, patient education, and comprehensive skincare. We are seeking an experienced phlebotomist who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist supports our providers by performing phlebotomy, specimen processing, patient preparation, and minor clinical procedures. This role helps ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and excellent patient care.

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or patient care setting
  • Previous phlebotomy experience, including venipuncture and specimen collection
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Experience documenting patient information in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Strong communication, organization, and computer skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Clinical Laboratory Assistant, or related healthcare training program
  • Current Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent)
  • 1โ€“2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinic, medical office, hospital, or laboratory
  • Dermatology or specialty clinic experience
  • Experience with specimen processing, patch testing, suture removal, or assisting with minor procedures

Perform venipuncture and blood collection while ensuring patient comfort and safety

Label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and transport

Prepare patients for blood draws, patch testing, and suture removal appointments

Perform suture and staple removals

Apply and document allergy patch testing

Verify patient information and accurately document visits in the EMR

Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked laboratory and clinical areas

Monitor laboratory inventory and assist with ordering supplies

Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols

Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and staff

Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed

Perform other duties as assigned
