Job description

Under the supervision of the manager (or designee) or Nurse according to established practices, performs patient care services (such as phlebotomy and 12 Lead EKGs, physicial vitals, departmental inventory, and other duties as assigned), assists the medical and nursing staff with patient visits and procedures.  Assists nursing personnel in maintaining efficient and effective departmental patient flow by performing clinical support activities, maintaining records, inventories and charts related to patient care activities. Clinical Care Tech provides a variety of clinical services to patients and staff members in the departments. Serves as a monitor tech and performs phlebotomy, non-invasive cardiology, respiratory procedures as well as other clinical activities (e.g., specimen processing). Assists for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of the patient in accordance with hospital policy and nursing service standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • The level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through the completion of high school level course work
  • Ability to read, write and spell.
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Experience in one of the following areas from an accredited program: Medical Assistant, EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-P, Medical Lab Assistant, LPN, Phlebotomist, EKG technician
    • Must maintain and provide documentation of renewal of license, registration or certification.
  • Fundamental understanding of medical terminology and computer.
