Work Shift: Start time 12am-1am (8 hour shift) Monday-Friday with rotating Saturday
The Target Pay for this position is $26 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Job Purpose/Overview
The Laboratory Generalist III receives and prepares samples for laboratory analysis and tests, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads, interprets, and releases results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function.
  • Must be proficient in at least three clinical areas including Hematology.
  • Perform and analyze results for the Total Parasite PCR panels and other non-PCR tests as required.
  • Process samples and prepare samples for send out.
  • Perform all required quality control per QA guidelines.
  • Train on all areas to include Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Serology, UA, Coag and Parasitology according to all SOP's.
  • Oversee the entering and releasing of results.
  • Responsible for the performance of tests such as Chemistry -Olympus, T4-Olympus, CBC-Advia, Progesterone, PT, PTT, Platelet count, Reticulocytes, UA and Parasitology PCR.
  • Responsible for building hematology and UA loads.
  • Participate in all departmental training programs.
  • Reconcile pending list.
  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Degree in a related field with a minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory experience in Hematology. Degree or experience in Molecular Biology preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
  • May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Heavy microscopic work
  • The ability to observe details at close range
  • Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.
  • Extended hours may be needed
  • Laboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE.
  • Work under close to moderate supervision
  • Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals is available from department supervision.
