Job description

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Electrophysiology Lab Manager provides direction to the staff of the Electrophysiology Lab toassistduring electrophysiology studies, ablations, ICD implants and checks and permanent pacemakers,utilizingtechnical skills, and to support both the patient and physician during these procedures.
Supervises and directs the technical aspects in the Electrophysiology Lab.
Coordinates scheduling of all patients and coordinates with other areas.
Administers and/or recommends hospital and department policies and procedures.
Evaluates and counsels employees relative to performance, conduct, attendance and adherence to department/hospital rules and regulations.
Resolves personnel questions, problems and complaints. Recommends hiring, promotion, discipline and other administrative action.
Orients and trains new staff.
Orders appropriate supplies as needed.
Collects, generates, analyzes and distributes statistical reports as required.
Troubleshoots minor equipment problems.
Attends regularly scheduled department meetings, staff in-services, and training.
Constantly monitors and observes the patient throughout the procedure and notifies RN and or MD of any observed changes in patient status.
Calibrates and operates recorder and computer for accurate recording and analyzing of data obtained.
Preps patient and sets up equipment needed for all procedures.
Scrubs and assists physician during procedure while maintaining sterile technique.
Assists during emergencies and Emergency Codes.
Documents all events during the procedure on electrophysiology log.
Assists in insertion of permanent pacemakers.
Is knowledgeable of how and why catheters and other technical supplies are used for all procedures.
Collects data on the patient prior to the procedure to assist with nursing assessment.
Operates Dinamap, stimulator, Radionic Ablation Unit, programmer, recording system, and surgical cautery.
Removes both femoral and brachial arterial or venous sheaths and maintains digital hemostasis.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned or requested.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree - Required
5+ Years Experience in an EP Lab - Preferred
State of NH RN License - Required
