Your Opportunity:

Reporting to Manager IT - Provincial Workforce Systems Technology, a Senior PeopleSoft Administrator will provide many years of in-depth industry experience in Web based applications running on Linux, Windows, AIX, UNIX platforms as Senior PeopleSoft Administrator. Troubleshooting chronic performance problems in large applications including PeopleSoft HCM based on Oracle databases. The incumbent must interpret the strategic direction of the organization and external industry trends to provide technological direction and recommend best practices within 'Provincial workforce Systems Technology' team and to the business client with the goal of improving business processes and the quality of services offered. By applying fundamental theories, principles and concepts in the development, testing, implementation and support of complex technical solutions, this position ensures the business client's needs are met. In collaboration with the business client & Technology Services, this position develops a thorough understanding of the client's business processes, system use, and performance expectations and applies this broad-based knowledge to anticipate customer needs and identify innovative/effective solutions for the client. The position engages various groups in Technology services as needed for H/W upgrades/migrations/configurations in supporting Tier-1 applications such as ePeople (PeopleSoft HCM). The incumbent will utilize strong PeopleSoft, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, written and interpersonal skills in a challenging customer driven, professional environment. The incumbent will work independently and/or collaboratively within the, other operational teams and vendor team with minimum guidance to ensure reliable operations of the applications with Primary support responsibilities.

Description:

Senior PeopleSoft Administrator will be Responsible for Architecting and designing application deployment environments to be robust, secure, reliable and highly available. Installing / configuring / maintaining / upgrading various layers of PeopleSoft, BMC control-m, PHIRE applications. Creating monitoring / alerting scripts/programs to proactively alert support team of any problem in any layer of the application such as web domains, Application domains, Process scheduler domains, database etc. Escalating issues/problems to Oracle support and third parties as appropriate. PeopleSoft code migration either manually or through the change management tool PHIRE. End-to-end performance management, in-depth application/database performance analysis, doing complex problem root cause analysis, finding the problematic/suboptimal code or system configuration in complex PeopleSoft environment, advising/helping the developers and other PSADMIN's in the team in optimizing programs & system configuration. Load testing (directly or providing assistance) of the upgraded application during PeopleTools/Oracle RDBMS, PUMs upgrade as part of sign-off for final upgrade. Fully capable of leading self with minimum direction from the Manager. Ability to set & meet personal deadlines and adapt to changes in priority. Participate in 7*24 on-call rotation. Required Qualifications:

Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Systems Technology Diploma with comparable experience. 10+ years of PeopleSoft experience as intermediate to senior Developer and supporting major upgrades such as PeopleTools, PUMs. Expert level development experience in creating / maintaining complex Oracle PLSQL procedures / packages for system performance monitoring/alerting and/or application locks detecting / alerting in proactive manner. Expert level PeopleSoft implementation/upgrade projects (PUM) knowledge/experience as well as demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources and Payroll modules. Skills and experience in debugging/troubleshooting techniques for technical issues related to infrastructure components including application and web server, process scheduler, integration broker, Elasticsearch server, SMTP server and database. Strong knowledge of update and hands on experience applying PeopleSoft installation and maintenance (Tuxedo, Java, WebLogic, Cobol, Web services, etc.) and PeopleSoft application/Tools upgrade and PUM upgrade, tax updates, selective adoption of fixes.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have strong understanding of different layers of PeopleSoft architecture with many years of support experience. Proficient with Linux & AIX platforms along with writing/maintaining Unix, Bash scripts for automation. Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Oracle optimizer engine & ability to understand complex execution plans to help tune complex SQL's. Strong/Demonstrated knowledge in Oracle database performance troubleshooting using oracle AWR, Oracle OEM diagnostic / tuning packs etc. in various releases of Oracle preferably with 19c and most recent. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, documentation and organizational skills. Experience in Change Management systems such as PHIRE and ServiceNow etc. Proficient in SDLC and ITIL methodologies preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:

Expert knowledge of all aspects of the Oracle PeopleSoft architecture and experience with PeopleSoft HCM release 9.2 and People Tools v.8.60/v8.61. 10+ years of PeopleSoft experience as Technical System Administration and upgrade specialist.
