About the job

Our Client is a prime manufacturer of commercial furniture designated to the hospitality/restaurant markets. Our product line includes solid wood chairs, stools, table tops and soft seating. For our vertically integrated manufacturing process, from raw lumber to finishing, we are looking for a hand-on candidate with a strong design/manufacturing background in solid wood furniture.

Position Overview:

Design and construct 3D solid models of furniture elements using CAD software.

Coordinate millwork operations to manufacture the furniture parts using state-of-the-art CNC machinery as well as traditional wood-working machinery.

Essential Job Functions

  • Produce 3 dimensional drawings of furniture elements.

  • Produce manufacturing drawings for the engineering department to code CNC operations and to guide fabricators through successful completion.

  • Field (in plant) measure projects during construction for drawing accuracy and coordinate closely with employees.

  • Take direction from, and work with customer throughout the entire process from beginning design and planning stages through production.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in 3 dimensional CAD drawing - Autodesk Inventor /Fusion , Solid works preferably

  • knowledge of CNC language and post processors to different machines.

  • Strong knowledge of millwork operations: lumber, sizing, ripping cross cutting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of multi axis CAM operations is a plus.

  • BS in relevant engineering or engineering technology fields such as Architectural, Construction, or Mechanical

  • CAD skills required, Autodesk Inventor/Fusion or SolidWorks preferred

  • Must be well organized and exhibit a high degree of attention to detail

  • Energized by a fast paced work environment

  • Must be goal oriented and focused on continuous improvement

  • Ability to anticipate and value customer needs, troubleshoot, and offer proactive solutions to any potential issues
