Job description

Position Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing lean principles, and utilizing engineering expertise to enhance production capabilities. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and supporting the overall success of the manufacturing operation.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Analyze the current method of production by watching operations, conducting comprehensive research, and using information about the product and its parts.
Create new ways of producing products for new or current ventures by utilizing findings from research, knowledge of the product, expense information and company goals.
Develop alternative methods of making manufacturing practices more efficient and cost effective; look at space constraints, material requirements and current needs in order to improve.
Review quality standards of each product to make sure there are no problems; test all materials extensively to analyze how each item meets the standard.
Make recommendations to company leaders in order to have the best use of production timelines, equipment and supplies; give details about what the company's manufacturing goals should be in the months or years ahead.
Summarize all data, documentation and information related to the production system in a detailed report for internal use.
Maintain all company equipment in top working condition by scheduling all repairs, keeping up on recommended maintenance and diagnosing any issues that appear.
Generate an accurate database of all production details and data.
Continue to develop professional expertise and proficiencies by periodically participating in classes, conferences and other developmental opportunities.
Liaison with a team of machinery operators, managers and product developers to ensure everyone is contributing to the common goal.
Work to provide solutions to leadership when presented with manufacturing concerns.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
2+ years in Manufacturing Engineering role, or similar experience
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
Ability to successfully work in a team atmosphere
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering with coursework in the manufacturing process
Work Environment:
This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
