The Senior New Product Implementation (NPI) Manufacturing Engineer will be a member of the NPI engineering team.ย  The NPI team is responsible for supporting development of products throughout their entire lifecycle, which includes initial concept through final design and initial production. This may include working from engineering design documents, specifications, and/or prototypes to determine equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacture and installation to produce quality products within cost and specification guidelines.ย  As needed, they will identify and implement process improvements and cost reductions for components and systems of existing products.

Responsibilities
  • Provides imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving conventional utilization of manufacturing engineering techniques
  • Participates in development process to insure manufacturability, quality, and cost effectiveness of new products. Evaluates and selects appropriate manufacturing processes and suppliers.ย 
  • Develops work instructions and trains manufacturing staff on assembly and test process, equipment, and software
  • Designs tooling for efficient and repeatable fabrication and assembly processes
  • Generates reports and deliverables, presents on project status, and communicates project risk with opperations and core team
  • Functions in a technical leadership role and can effectively coordinate and lead activities and other support personnel to meet project objectives
  • Follows established policies and procedures, performs professional manufacturing engineering assignments requiring full use and application of standard manufacturing principles, theories, concepts and techniques
  • Analyzes engineering drawings and support documentation as it pertains to project requirements and producibility
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in NPI, manufacturing, or process engineering

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization methodologies
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) for design review and analysis
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools
  • Understanding of materials, tooling, and fabrication processes relevant to the industry
  • Ability to develop and execute test plans, validation protocols, and failure analysis

Project & Process Management:

  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to define and implement manufacturing strategies for new product introduction
  • Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure smooth production ramp-up
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, risk assessment, and quality control in manufacturing

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Leadership and mentorship experience, guiding junior engineers and technicians

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry-specific experience in electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or related fields
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, PMP, or Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or IoT integration in manufacturing
